From a video by Rob Zvernia of Blair Wilson projecting a color transparency slide of one of his doll paintings and makes it dance on a shimmying fabric scrap projection surface.
While Vermillion Gallery was between exhibits, its bare white walls offered themselves irresistibly as surfaces for a pandemonium of projections. There was no particular theme.
A dozen or so projectionists in various formats--slide, super8, 16mm, overhead, digital, and even the lowly filmstrip--turned the blank white walls into an immersive improvisational cinematic experiment.
Organized by Robert Zverina, this projectionist invitational was an extension of the Bring Your Own Projector nights begun 2005 at Priceless Works Gallery in Seattle.
